Advent Giving Event 2025
“I was hungry, and you gave me food.”—Matthew 25:35
Father Ignatius and the Parish Council are urging everyone to participate in an all-parish charity/almsgiving event from 1 to 3PM on Saturday, December 6. Faith Bible Chapel in Driftwood is hosting a volunteer event to pack nutritious, non-perishable food to be shipped to undernourished children throughout the world.
The event is sponsored by Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), a Christian non-profit that since 1987 has been dedicated to seeing every child made whole in body and spirit. Private donations fund the meal ingredients, which are developed by food science and nutrition professionals to nourish growing children. Volunteers hand-pack rice, soy, dried vegetables and a nutritionally complete blend of vitamins and minerals into bags which are then sealed, boxed, placed on pallets, and shipped to partners who distribute the food to children who need it around the world.
Through volunteering with FMSC, you’ll get the chance to impact hundreds of kids in just two hours. You’ll experience what it’s like to help others in a very basic, meaningful way: by feeding them. Ages 5 and up are welcome, so this is an excellent opportunity for families to experience making a difference through service together. There is no cost to participate, although donations are always welcome to help continue this important work. As a non-profit Christian charity, FMSC receives no government support.
If you’d like to join St Andrew’s in supporting this effort on Saturday, December 6 at 1:00pm, please contact Subdeacon Paul or SME. For other times please contact Nick Coker at Faith Bible Church, 18315 FM 1826 in Driftwood, at nick@fbcatx.com.
If you can’t participate in a packing session, please consider supporting FMSC’s mission through a tax-deductible donation at:
